There are situations when you need to modify certain resources or services of your operating system and you don't want to check each service separately. In this situation, you could use QuickMon. As its name clearly states, this program allows you to quickly monitor any type of system resource or service, having an open architecture and allowing you to implement new plug-ins which can extend the functionality of the application.

After installing the software, you should first access the configuration utility, so that you can customize the program's functionality. In the configuration panel, you can add several "agents", which are actually objects that monitor system resources or services. The agents are of two types, collectors and notifiers. The first type gathers information about the state of some resources or services, while the notifiers record alerts in a specific format.

When configuring agents, you can select from a large list the action that should be performed by them. For example, an agent can be configured to monitor the disk space for a specific partition and display a warning or a notification when the free space reaches a critical level. After you have configured the agents and monitoring instances, you can just launch the actual application and load the configuration file which you have just saved.

Pros

It allows you to create numerous types of agents, which can monitor certain aspects of the operating system. Besides that, you can configure several monitoring instances.

Cons

The program usage may seem a bit unclear at first for some users. QuickMon allows you to quickly monitor certain aspects of your system, like services and the registry.
